West Ham produced a laughable display in front of their home fans as they lost 3-0 to Chelsea at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (September 21st).

   This result leaves the Hammers with just one win in their first five games and Julen Lopetegui is certainly under a lot of pressure.    The honeymoon is over for him.

   BBC radio commentator John Southall said that when Crysencio Summerville was taken off in the 54th minute, Hammers fans gave him a standing ovation as he was the only bright spark for the team in that game.

   West Ham fans, however, did not like the decision.    When Michail Antonio was about to enter, the home fans welcomed him with loud whistles.

   Southall wrote, as quoted by the BBC Sport Live blog: “The home fans boo when Michail Antonio comes on. Cryscencio Summerville gets a standing ovation, he was one of the only bright sparks.”

   There weren’t many West Ham fans in the stadium at the final whistle as they left the pitch early, but the whistles did go.    It is clear that the fans want more fighting spirit from the team.

   Nicolas Jackson scored twice while Cole Palmer added another for the Blues as Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory.

   It was West Ham’s second defeat in their last three games, and fans are expected to be more upset by the manner of the defeat than the result.

   Marc Albrighton said on BBC radio that he had not seen a team so disintegrated in recent times.    There was almost no connection and communication between the players, and they could not fight in the derby.

   West Ham signed a number of players in the summer transfer window and Lopetegui needs to integrate them into the first team accordingly.    The fans just couldn’t believe what they saw today as they shook their heads.
