🚨BREAKING NEWS :Stephen Warnock delivers verdict on key decision during Nottingham Forest draw

Nottingham Forest hit back to claim a share of the spoils against Brighton and Hove Albion, with Ramon Sosa scoring his first Reds goal.

The Paraguayan international was on hand to head home Jota Silva’s cross to ensure the Reds left the AMEX Stadium with something to show for their efforts.

Forest went ahead through Chris Wood but Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck turned the game around.

Sosa equalized for Forest, but then the Reds had to play the last 10 minutes with a man down after Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off.

Stephen Warnock delivers the verdict on Morgan Gibbs-White’s sending off

The pundit was working for BBC Sport on Radio 5 Live today and was on hand to give his take on the game’s big decision.

Warnock went close when Gibbs-White rose to a challenge on Joao Pedro to thwart a Brighton counter-attack.

He has now given his verdict on the decision, suggesting that the umpire – or the fourth man who got him wrong – may have been right.

He told BBC Sport: “It was right in front of us. I immediately thought credit goes to Gibbs-White – he covered the ground and stopped the counter-attack.

“You see it again on the replay and everything looks worse on the replay, [Pedro’s] ankle is collapsing under him, but there’s momentum.

“Rob Jones takes his time and was booed off the field for the way he refereed the game. I thought he handled it well, he took his time to make his decision.

“We’ve accepted this season that the referee’s decision on the pitch is the final decision and I’m fine with that.”

Forest must plan for Fulham without Gibbs-White

It is not ideal that Forest go into next week’s very winnable home game against Fulham without their talismanic captain.

Still, the likes of Silva and Sosa coming in and making an impact bode well for minus Gibbs-White next week.

The Reds fought hard in this game in Brighton and in the end deservedly got a late point.

Gibbs-White played the ball a lot, but when he scored he gave the match officials a decision.

Forest must now plan for Fulham without Gibbs-White and it will be fascinating to see what Nuno Espirito Santo decides.
