‘Full of confidence’ :Sky Sports pundit thinks ‘class’ star is the best  at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest travel to Brighton this afternoon looking to continue their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Premier League season after winning 1-0 at Anfield last weekend.

After that win against Liverpool, expectations rose.    But Brighton are also unbeaten and Forest have a tough game ahead of them today.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be very excited about the game today and will put together another detailed game plan for his team to follow.

Forest have some real quality in their squad at the moment and after a positive summer recruitment campaign there is no reason for any team to fear in the Premier League.

Kris Boyd has paid tribute to Nottingham Forest star Murillo

After last weekend’s game against Liverpool, Milenkovic received rave reviews for his performance against the six-time Champions League winners.

He signed for £12m from Fiorentina in the summer and Adam Summerton can’t believe Forest managed to get Milenkovic for that money.

But former Forest loan star Boyd believes Murillo is the real star attraction at the back – despite admitting he also rates Milenkovic.

He told Sky Sports News (21/09; 13:13): “I think Milenkovic has done well, but for me the main reason why Forest are doing so well at the moment is Murillo, his partner in midfield.

“I think he came for £10m from Corinthians a couple of years ago. He’s only 22 too.

“He’s got to develop and I think when you look at him, he’s developing into a top defender full of confidence for me.”

Forest did very well to contain Murillo

With heavy interest from the Premier League’s big six, Murillo looked set to leave Forest this summer.

However, the Reds have stuck to their £70m price tag and that is testament to the club’s owner.

Evangelos Marinakis will not accept replacing numbers at the City Ground and wants Forest back among the established group of Premier League clubs.

Murillo will almost certainly play for a top team at some point in his career, but in the short term Forest look the best club for his development.

The Reds will give him a chance to play regular football and at the moment he is simply adding more value to the transfer fee Forest will eventually demand for his services.

Murillo is a top player and with Milenkovic by his side this season, it’s scary how good he can be in the future.
