JUST IN:Brighton coach disagrees with Nottingham Forest in Morgan Gibbs-White red card row

Brighton manager Andrew Crofts insisted referee Rob Jones was right to award a free-kick against Morgan Gibbs-White.

   Speaking to BBC Sport after today’s tense 2-2 draw at the Amex Stadium, Crofts was asked about the incident in which Nottingham Forest’s Gibbs-White showed a second yellow card and red cards to Nun Espiritu Santo and Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler.

   Nuno contested the decision as Gibbs-White was clearly in contact with the ball and Brighton disagreed.    Hurzeler and Nunu did not have to speak to the media after the termination.

   “Late in the game when we’re trying to push to win, there’s a foul right by our bench. A player goes to the ball but it felt like a foul. Their bench felt different,” Crofts said.

   “I haven’t seen too much of it, but the referee sent off the coaches. I’m not 100 per cent sure [why Fabian Hurzeler was sent off]. I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll ask him when I see it. We’re disappointed. We felt we should have won.

   “We scored two very good goals. A great header and a superb, superb free kick. In the second half we felt on top and tried to get the third goal to kill the game. We can definitely defend those moments better. Overall we defended very well  good because they didn’t have many chances, but you have to try to do it 100% of the time.”
