🚨JUST IN :Journalist shares Daniel Farke prefences as player axed from Leeds United squad

Daniel Farke has shown his upside at Leeds United after Patrick Bamford was selected ahead of Joe Gelhardt in his latest squad, according to Nancy Froston.

The reporter reported that with Gelhardt left out of the squad for the 2-0 win over Cardiff on September 21, Farke had chosen his advantage.

Bamford has had injury problems since the end of last season, with Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe currently the main options at Elland Road.

Joe Gelhardt needs to find a way out of Leeds United soon

Despite Bamford only being back to full fitness, the fact that he was immediately named on the bench ahead of Gelhardt shows how the 22-year-old feels about his future at Leeds.

The striker was the talk of the town when he first joined Wigan before moving to West Yorkshire but it never quite panned out.

The striker even made a few Premier League appearances and scored a famous winner against Norwich, but his development seems to have stalled.

Gelhardt was consistently linked with a move during the summer window but it never happened due to his current wages at Elland Road [Graeme Bailey, 6 September].

It has also been suggested that because the Whites did not add any further attacks to their ranks, they did not want to risk coming up short as they went deeper into the season [Yorkshire Evening Post, 30 August].

Whatever the reason, now seems like the best time for both sides to cut their losses and part ways in January or next summer.
