West Ham sporting director Mark Noble has just made a big claim that will really surprise Arsenal fans.

   Mark Noble has spent his entire career at West Ham after spending two years at Arsenal as a youth player.

   When Declan Rice left the London Stadium to join Arsenal, Mark Noble told the former West Ham man it was exactly what he deserved.

   These comments saw Nobes rise in the ratings of Arsenal fans, while Hammers fans were not so happy about his comments.

   Former West Ham captain Mark Noble was seen as a key player in the decision-making process to appoint a new manager at the London Stadium in the summer.

   So he obviously has a lot of influence in the club.

   Not many people know West Ham United Football Club better than Mark Noble.

   Something he just said about the Hammers might not surprise West Ham fans, but Arsenal fans might just take offense to his comments.

   Mark Noble has admitted to West Ham that he will shock Arsenal fans

   Funnily enough, Noble actually joined Arsenal’s academy aged 11 before moving to West Ham two years later.

   He played for the Hammers until the end of the 2021/22 season, and then just half a year later became the club’s sporting director.

   The 37-year-old is truly Mr West Ham.    He knows the club inside out, but his latest comments may raise a few eyebrows at the Emirates.

   Noble was a guest on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast and discussed Arsenal’s performance away to Manchester City on Sunday.

   And the former Hammers captain hit back when asked what he thought of the Gunners’ line-up addiction.

   He said: “Moysie was like that though. Yeah, David was like that. At one point our set plays were a big part of our game, especially in Europe where you’ve got Dawson, Kurt, who were aggressive. Obviously I had Big  Sama, who was big on the sets.”

   We all know by now that the Hammers have depended on set-ups under David Moyes and Sam Allardyce.

   But the comparison of the two nativity scenes with Mikel Arteta is truly astonishing.

   Moyes and Allardyce are the poor man’s Arteta

   Let’s get one thing straight first – Mikel Arteta as a manager is on a different level to Moyes and Allardyce, certainly from a tactical and people management perspective.

   The Spaniard has made Arsenal stronger in recent years and they are now clearly Manchester City’s main challengers for the Premier League title.

   It’s also worth noting – set-pieces aren’t the only strings in Arteta’s bow.

   The Gunners are capable of playing a fantastically attractive type of possession-based football, as well as a high-pressing system as and when required.

   Arteta is incredibly flexible and has an incredible talent for making significant tactical changes between games.

   Moyes and Allardyce were never in Arteta’s league.    Mark Noble certainly knows this, but his comparison between West Ham’s run of play and what Arsenal do with free kicks and corners is fair praise for him.
