Nottingham Forest have made a good start to the 2024/2024 Premier League campaign, with two wins and three draws from five matches.

   Nine points is a healthy haul for the Reds and currently the club is flying the East Midlands flag proudly when it comes to football.

   Derby County are trying to re-establish themselves as a Championship club after almost going under the water three years ago.

   Leicester City are in turmoil at the moment – Steve Cooper is starting to feel the heat despite only being at the King Power Stadium for a few months.

   The Foxes faced Walsall in League Two in the Carabao Cup last night and things got a little ugly for the promotion-winning manager who was adored by Forest.

   What Leicester fans sang to Steve Cooper during Leicester’s win

   The Foxes made it through to the next round of the League Cup last night, but the performance was unconvincing.

   Leicester drew the opposition 0-0 before winning on penalties – something Cooper knows all about!

   Journalist Daniel Storey, who supports Forest, claims Leicester fans chanted “This is disgraceful” and “Cooper, Cooper, settle it” during the game.

   In addition, it is also believed that there was an incident with a fan during the second half of the competition.

   BBC Radio Leicester Sport commentator Jack Rafferty said something happened during the game and it doesn’t sound good.

   He wrote on X: “Funny scenes here as a Leicester fan runs onto the pitch shouting at Steve Cooper and the City bench. He ends up being tackled by a Walsall player and dragged away by the stewards. Hamza Choudhury also had a say in the process.”

   Cooper was doomed from the start at Leicester

   The Foxes had very little money in the summer transfer window, making it very difficult for Leicester to strengthen their squad.

   Cooper has managed to bring in a few players, but none can hold the flame for a player like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who was sold to Chelsea.

   Then there’s the fact that Cooper’s last job came at Forest – a club that every Leicester fan has seen as their main rival since long before his association with Derby.

   Cooper hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory when it comes to the Premier League.

   He did surprisingly well to keep Forest in the Premier League in his first season in the top flight, but the Reds carried the tag of a cheeky underdog.

   Last season before he was sacked, the Reds appeared to be running out of ideas and rarely seemed to get back into games when a goal was conceded.

   No one connected with Forest will wish Cooper any ill will, but when things get ugly, for all the world it seems the writing is already on the wall.
