It’s that time of the week again when Nottingham Forest’s media team release a matchday pass clip on YouTube.

   As with any positive Premier League result, the hours after the end are usually filled with replays of highlights and magical woodland moments.

   It’s always good to understand the warts behind the scenes and all the perspectives and Forest played their part in an entertaining draw with Brighton.

   Chris Wood and Ramon Sosa scored for Forest – the latter scoring his first goal in English football.

   Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off late in the period and Forest will have to do without him when Fulham visit the City Ground this weekend.

   It was Wood’s third goal of the season and his first for Forest from the penalty spot.

   Ward-Prowse signed for Forest during the summer transfer window and the Reds missed the deadline to sign the on-loan midfielder.

   Just 12 months ago, Ward-Prowse joined West Ham from Southampton, where he made 382 Premier League appearances, for £30m.

   During his time at Southampton, he was a regular penalty taker for the club and when Forest were awarded a penalty on Sunday, it looked like he would progress.

   A matchday YouTube video of the pass shows Ward-Prowse standing with the ball under his arm waiting for a penalty as referee Rob Jones waits for VAR to confirm.

   When the referee confirms that a penalty has been awarded, the new signing throws the ball to Wood who steps in to convert.

   Ward-Prowse’s experience will be vital for Forest this season

   The signing of the 29-year-old will almost certainly prove to be a powerful one for Forest and looks like a coup.

   With the majority of Forest’s dressing room relatively young, Ward-Prowse – along with the club’s other loan signing, Alex Moreno – should provide some much-needed experience.

   Ward-Prowse is dangerous from set pieces and the challenge for Forest now is to start winning more of those and let the midfielder aim.

   It may have been a ploy to trick the Brighton keeper on Sunday, but it also shows how good Forest are when it comes to potential penalty takers.
