Leicester City fans have noticed Ricardo Pereira’s recent activity on social media ahead of this weekend’s game against Arsenal

   The Foxes travel to the Emirates Stadium looking for their first Premier League win of the season just days after limping past Walsall in the Carabao Cup.

   Pereira has been used sparingly so far this season, failing to play a single minute of league football and only making his first start of the 2024/25 campaign on Tuesday.

   Fans were left baffled by Steve Cooper’s decision to drop Pereira in favor of James Justin for the first five games.

   Justin admitted he and his Leicester City teammates “were not up for it” against Everton last week, with many fans calling for the right-back to be dropped in place of Pereira.

   The 30-year-old has been tight-lipped about his lack of playing time, but a post on Instagram on Wednesday in which he said: “Focus on yourself, improve and always give your best,” prompted many Leicester fans to comment and call for him to play.    .

   Pereira has since appeared to like a number of posts calling for him to start, suggesting he may not be too happy with Cooper’s decision to demote him to the bench.

   Despite favoring Justin, Cooper insists Pereira has an important role to play in his side and will be a key asset for the Foxes throughout the season.

   The Foxes boss said: “I speak to Ricky all the time.

   “He is a great professional and a very important player in the dressing room, for the culture. He is an example.

   “He’ll want to play games but he knows he’s in the competition like all the other players. Sometimes you’ve got the shirt on, you’re nodding and other times you’re not.”
