Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano responds to Everton links with “fantastic” title-winning manager

Sean Dyche has had a difficult start to the season at the Toffees, so no doubt many fans will be wondering if a managerial change could be imminent to save their season.

However, there currently appears to be no confirmation of Everton’s interest in signing Sarri, who remains out of work since leaving Lazio recently.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano said he was unaware of anything going on between Everton and Sarri, so it may be that EFC fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing any serious  moves to potentially replace Dyche.

“Despite being out of work for 18 months, Maurizio Sarri remains a fantastic coach,” said Romano.

“I’m sure he’s up-to-date, always up-to-date, always active. He’s not the kind of boss who leaves everything when he’s not working.

“Regarding Everton, I have no confirmation of this story so far. No approaches, no talks.”

Everton surely need to change something quickly as Dyche seems to have lost the positive influence he previously had on the team.

The Merseyside side did well to avoid relegation last season despite picking up points in the Premier League, but it looks like it will be tougher for them now and they must be serious relegation contenders unless something changes dramatically soon.

Sarri could be perfect as he has done a good job in his career, winning the Europa League in his only season at Chelsea and lifting the Serie A title with Juventus the following year.
