NEWS :Leeds United facing six major injury concerns ahead of Sunderland clash at the Stadium of Light next week

   Leeds United have had a number of fresh injury problems ahead of this weekend’s game against Coventry City, with just eight days to go until they visit the Stadium of Light.

   Sunderland, who are four points ahead of Leeds ahead of this weekend’s games, welcome the North East side to Elland Road on Friday, October 4, in their final game before the international break in what will prove to be a test of both sides’ promotion credentials.

   Manager Daniel Farke has revealed a number of fresh injury concerns for his Manor side with Solomon, Max Wober and Daniel James set to miss the Coventry contest.    Pascal Struijk, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford are questionable and it is unclear which players will recover in time to face the Black Cats next week.    There is also a midweek fixture to consider as both Leeds and Sunderland play three games in seven days before players leave for international duty.

   “Unfortunately this week we’ve got some injury news and also some problems,” Farke said on Thursday, via the Yorkshire Evening Post .    “Manor Solomon is out for this game, apparently he had a back problem which caused a hamstring problem. I hope to get him back at least for the last game before the international break and maybe even against Norwich. miss this game for sure.Daniel  James is still absent, the only realistic possibility is that he will return after the international break.

   He continued: “Max will miss this game as well, he had a setback in training last Friday before Cardiff so he wasn’t in the match day squad. Some ongoing problems with his knee. Our medical department is trying to find a conservative solution and we will find out  in the next few days we tried to push him back to team training but we have to decide in the next few days if that doesn’t work and he probably won’t be able to come back  training at the beginning of next week.

   “After the last game [against Cardiff] we had a few problems. Pascal struggled a bit with his adductors, Junior missed the first part of this week but he’s back in training today. It depends on how the body reacts but  I’m cautiously optimistic.   Patrick Bamford missed training yesterday after picking up a knock but I’m pretty optimistic he’ll be available.   The biggest question mark is for Pascal, definitely a chance, I’d say he’s cautiously optimistic, but he has to train in our last session tomorrow.   The final test for him is whether he is available or not.   That’s how it is and we have to adapt to it.
