Following Nottingham Forest’s draw against Brighton and Hove Albion, the club took to social media to share a collection of images that tell the story of the afternoon.

   One shows fans lining up before kick-off at the Amex Stadium, with smoke from pre-match pyrotechnics wafting over the pitch in the background.    Nikola Milenkovic, Alex Moreno, Anthony Elanga, Ola Aina and Callum Hudson-Odoi have their feet on the ground ready for business.

   And then there’s Murillo.    The Brazilian is placed between Milenkovic and Moreno and is caught in the air.    It’s not just any old jump;    he pushed himself impossibly high.

   His career will no doubt go in the same direction.    Indeed, it didn’t take long since the end of the summer window for the defender’s transfer talks to start again.    Real Madrid are the latest team to reportedly cast admiring glances in his direction.

   Good luck trying to price him in January.    Murillo will be doomed to move on at some point, but Forest will surely want to keep him for at least the whole season.    If the 22-year-old is to have another fantastic campaign on Trentside, his price tag will only be matched by his pre-match stature.

   But not only that, the reds are doing well.    If they can keep this squad together and even increase it over the winter period, there’s no reason they can’t climb up the Premier League table.

   Murillo and Milenković have an excellent central defensive partnership.    The younger man benefited from having a more experienced Serbian representative by his side.

   Milenkovic is the leader.    He talks to his teammates on the field all the time, guides and encourages them.    The pair work incredibly well together.

   Statistics compiled by TheOther14 on X show the extent of the duo’s work in Brighton.    The account handles statistics for players and teams outside the ‘Big Six’ of the Premier League.    In match week five, Murillo and Milenkovic topped the charts in combined blocks and clearances.

   Murillo scored a total of 17 with two blocks and 15 rebounds.    His defensive partner made three blocks and eight clearances.

   Forest have had some brilliant defenders in the past.    The red wall in Joe Worrall, Steve Cook and Scott McKenna’s season winning campaign was the stuff of legend.

   Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has some good options in the current squad in Willy Boly, Andrew Omobamidele and newcomer Morat.    He can play three at the back if he wants to.    But it is difficult that anyone will be able to displace Murillo and Milenkovic as the first choice in the defense of the four at this moment.

   Reds fans have been waiting a long time to see their team back in the Premier League.    After back-to-back seasons of fighting to avoid relegation, this period is only meant to continue.

   Fans have been waiting years for a team like this;    one with such strength in depth and quality across the pitch.    And Murillo and Milenkovic are very much at the heart of it.
