‘Tight’ :Micah Richard and Gary lineker discuss ‘Mighty’ Leeds United on Monday morning

Leeds United were dominant in their 3-0 win over Coventry City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, with Gary Lineker and Micah Richards discussing their win on Monday morning.

   Goals from Wilfried Gnont, Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe gave Leeds their fourth league win of the season and fifth clean sheet in six league games, with Leeds conceding just once in their last six.

   Daniel Farke’s approach is working wonders this season as he tries to control games in a better way that limits the opposition in terms of their options.    Leeds have seen the dominance of games without conceding a goal.

   The Whites have been excellent and have now climbed to fifth in England’s second tier as Farke aims to lead Leeds back to the Premier League at the second attempt after losing in the play-off final.

   Micah Richards has often spoken of his love for Leeds and on the latest episode of The Rest Is Football he and Gary Lineker spoke about “mighty” Leeds and their comfortable 3-0 win over Mark Robin’s side.

   The first of a packed run of fixtures will see Leeds play three times in six days, with their next clash against Norwich City on Tuesday night.    Next, Leeds travel to Sunderland away from home on Friday night.

   Leeds could be without Ethan Ampadu on Tuesday, which will be a huge blow, but Richards was delighted to see Leeds claim a 3-0 win and a fourth win of the season, with Lineker stressing how close they are.

   Richards told The Rest Is Football: “You’re not going to mention the mighty Leeds, are you? A 3-0 win at home to Coventry.”    Gary Lineker hit back at Richards and explained how tight it is in England’s second division.

   “I don’t have to because you just mentioned it. It’s pretty tight at the top of the Championship. I think the six clubs are about three points apart, but you’ll probably expect that,” Lineker said of Leeds.

   Where are Leeds in the table and how far from the top?

   Leeds climbed from sixth on Saturday to fifth.    Currently, just seven points separate first place from 12th place, the entire top half of the Championship table with Leeds two points ahead of leaders West Brom.

   The Leeds-run side are targeting Carlos Corberan.    Two key games in the next couple of days as Leeds take on two teams that currently reside in the top 10, hosting 10th Norwich and then Sunderland.

   As well as Ampadu, Leeds will also be without Max Wober, Dan James and possibly Manor Solomon.    If there are any other injuries, we will find out when Farke talks to the media today.
