‘Too much’ – Coventry City star delivers honest Leeds United verdict with Elland Road admission

Sky Blues captain Ben Sheaf returned from injury to make his first start of the season in this weekend’s Championship game in West Yorkshire, where goals from Willy Gnont, Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe secured a 3-0 success over Daniel Farke’s Whites.

   Sheaf made it through 61 minutes of the contest before being substituted, with the Sky Blues already 2-0 down after goals from Gnont and Bogle.    After the game, Sheaf gave an honest assessment of the contest to the club’s website, praising Leeds for their first half performance but stating that his side showed too much respect for the Whites at Elland Road.    The former Arsenal youngster also admitted that Bogle’s strike ended up “killing” his side shortly after the break.

   “We started well in the second half but then the second goal killed us and we tried to chase the game and they sat back and we have to break them down and it was just disappointing. We wanted to be more upfront and put more pressure higher up the pitch and  I thought so, but they broke down the right and the second goal killed them.”
