‘Big things ahead’… Pundit backs Sunderland duo to be future International stars

Pundit and former Sunderland player Danny Collins has backed two current Black Cats players to become future England stars.

   Sunderland returned to the top of the Championship table after a routine 2-0 win against Derby County on Tuesday night.

   Jobe Bellingham and Wilson Isidor scored;    The Frenchman has now scored twice in his last two and Phil Smith has backed Sunderland to sign Isidor if his goalscoring form continues.

   Sunderland fans hailed Romaine Mundl for another stirring performance from the former Spurs man, who continues to shine following the summer sale of Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town.

   Next up for Regis Le Bris’s side is a game against Leeds United at the Stadium of Light on Friday night in what will prove to be a huge test for the Black Cats.

   But they are in good shape.    They came into this game on the back of a good win with several players having impressive seasons.

   Sunderland duo Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg are backing a bright future

   There are many talented youngsters in Sunderland’s first team, many of whom look set to play at the highest level one day.

   Two of the many are Bellingham and Chris Rigg;    Bellingham scored a stunning goal against Derby County that caught Jude Bellingham’s attention on social media.

   Rigg, meanwhile, has broken into the starting eleven this season, and his excellent form has sparked interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United, who are expected to make a move as early as January.

   On SAFC Live post-match pundit Danny Collins was asked if he believed Bellingham and Rigg were future England players.

   Collins said: “They are involved in schemes so they get a taste of it with the younger age groups.

   “But go on. Young guys aren’t. But if they’re doing things right, age is just a number, isn’t it?

   “On the right track. Obviously, Jobe will look out for his brother and follow in his footsteps. That wouldn’t be a bad thing.

   “They’re doing the right things. They’re learning their trade here … I’m sure there are great things ahead of them or them.”

   Sunderland’s competition helped the midfield grow

   Many would say that midfield is Sunderland’s best quality.

   The summer saw Kristjaan Speakman fill the ranks with the likes of Alan Browne and Milan Aleksic among others, while the added competition helped the likes of Bellingham and Rigg grow.

   The competition is so fierce that fans called for Dan Neil to be released when he was one of the best midfielders in the Championship last season.

   Sunderland are really looking good this season and a lot of credit goes to Speakman for the signing.
