Leeds fans rage at Illan Meslier after penalty footage analysed

Leeds United fans were furious with goalkeeper Illan Meslier after his penalty save during the 1-1 draw with Norwich.

   The Whites left Carrow Road with a point after Largie Ramazani put them back in the game in the 60th minute following Josh Sargent’s first-half penalty.

   It left Daniel Farke’s side in fourth place ahead of their game against leaders Sunderland on Friday (October 4).

   However, Leeds fans felt Meslier could have done better when he tried to save a penalty.

   Sargent’s shots seemed to go under the 24-year-old, with no power or accuracy.

   It was only the fifth goal Leeds had conceded all season, but the fans were quick to have their say on their goalkeeper.

   Meslier has been at Elland Road since 2020, but supporters found his penalty taking “pathetic” as others questioned why he was “appearing”.
