Interestingly, Jamie Carragher addresses Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest team in a video posted by The Overlap on X as he talks about the greatest achievement in British football.
Gary Neville asked.
“Is the (Man United) treble the greatest achievement in British football or not? 99.”
replied Carragher.
“You talk about British football; I mean if you look at the team, you look at what Nottingham Forest have done. Where they’ve come, won the league and then won two European Cups year after year.
“When you think about it, it’s crazy.”
The glory days of Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough
The Reds rose from the Second Division to become First Division champions before conquering Europe between 1977 and 1979.
Clough also collected four League Cups, the European Super Cup and the Charity Shield.
