TalkSPORT pundit says one Everton man is criminally underrated and ‘deserves respect’

It hasn’t been the most exciting start to the season for Everton, but avoiding defeat in their last three Premier League games at least gives them a leg up.

   They can now hope to build from scratch, achieve safety this season and see what the next campaign brings.

   After all, not only is there likely to be a new owner, but they will also officially leave Goodison Park and move to the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.

   But if they are to achieve this goal, one man will be crucial;    a man who some feel deserves more respect.

   Darren Bent confessed to Sean Dyche
   Speaking on talkSPORT yesterday (08/10, 17:46), there was a sense of optimism about the Toffees.

   After all, one pundit has already changed his prediction of Everton being relegated after just seven games.

   Darren Bent was the latest to take a similar view, with the former Sunderland and Fulham striker admitting it will take a lot for Sean Dyche’s side to be relegated.

   He even suggested the 53-year-old deserves a lot more respect than he’s getting at the moment, claiming: “Fair play to him.”    It’s hard work there.    It will be interesting to see when the new owners come in because there has been a lot of talk about him and his job.    I never feel that no matter what side it’s on, it’s going to fall.    Yes, they may do it the hard way, but it deserves respect.

   Afterwards, when asked if Dyche would stay at Everton, Bent said: ‘I don’t know.    I’m not sure.    Listen if he keeps them in the division again and Everton have good players.

   Sean Dyche deserves more credit at Everton

   While some would like to sack him tomorrow, few can deny the outstanding job Everton boss Dyche has done since 2022.

   Indeed, it is a testament to his toughness and the club’s instability that he is the longest-serving head coach in the Farhad Moshiri era at Goodison Park.

   He may not play big, flowing football, but his philosophy is one that almost guarantees safety every year.

   Last season they even finished in 15th place, despite the fact that they were also deprived of eight points.

   So another poor start to this Premier League campaign shouldn’t undo all his hard work.

   With his contract expiring this summer, Dyche deserves to see it through to the end and be praised for stabilizing a club that was in total chaos when he arrived.
