After narrowly avoiding relegation in the previous two campaigns, Nottingham Forest are now showing signs of being an established Premier League side.

Forest started the new season on a positive note, conceding just one defeat in the opening seven games.

They sit in 10th place and fans are hoping for a season that sees them out of the relegation battle and instead looking up.

Nevertheless, club bosses are ready to open contract talks with the man after his promising performances.

Nottingham Forest ready to start contract negotiations with Nuno Espirito Santo

TBR Football has learned that Nottingham Forest are ready to open talks with Nuno Espirito Santo in the coming months.

Forest are happy with how their team is shaping up, as well as how Nuno is handling them.

The squad are said to be very happy with life under the Portuguese head coach, who won the fans over after replacing the hugely popular Steve Cooper last season.

Nuno signed a two-and-a-half-year deal when he joined last December.

Nottingham Forest should bolster Nuna Espirito Santo with a striker in January

To further underline their confidence in Nunn, Forest should splash the cash to sign the striker this January transfer window.

The former Wolves boss wanted to bring in the number nine in the summer, but Santiago Gimenez and Eddie Nketiah fell through.

Callum Wilson should perhaps be targeted to provide support for Chris Wood as he could be made available to Newcastle.
