‘Idiotic’ :Leicester City’s player gets blasted by National media after what he did in international duty

Leicester City centre-back Wout Faes played again for his country as Belgium lost 2-1 to France.

   Leicester currently have 12 players in their national team and one of them is defender Wout Faes.

   Faes started in last week’s 2-2 draw with Italy and his performance was somewhat judgmental in the Belgian media, with the 26-year-old criticized for his defensive clumsiness.

   This was evident once again in Belgium’s Nations League defeat to France when the Leicester star was awarded a penalty after handling the ball in the box.

   Randal Kolo Muani converted the resulting spot-kick and that gave Belgium a mountain to climb.    Lois Openda then equalized on the stroke of half-time and Kolo Muani scored the second for France to secure victory in the second half.

   Belgian media blasted Wout Faes after France’s performance

   Faes is a brilliant defender, but during his time at Leicester fans realized that he can make a mistake that can completely overwrite his previous good work.

   That’s the story that summed up his performance against France when he scored the penalty that allowed the visitors to open the scoring.

   Walfoot rated him 4/10 and praised his clumsiness in the field as “stupid”.    They wrote: “Already the author of a risky recovery at the start of the game, he eventually burst in front of Barcola and conceded a stupid penalty. Shame because when he recovered he was worthy of Alderweireld on a good day.”

   Voetbal Primeur shared a similar assessment of his performance, claiming that Faes played well but that his mistake was a “big blemish” on his performance.

   They rated him 5/10 and added: “He played a pretty good game at the start, but just over half an hour into the game he conceded an incomprehensible penalty in the penalty area. This gave France a penalty and a lead which the visitors did not relinquish.. Mistakes,  which the Fairies do more often are also a big stain on his game.’

   Wout Faes must correct the mistakes to reach the next level

   Juventus scouts were present for Fae’s performance against Italy, but if they had seen him in the defeat to France, they would not have been impressed with him.

   The Leicester star didn’t get a single tackle or tackle on the ground in the game and was passed three times.    The penalty awarded was just the icing on the cake of a poor display.

   If Faes is to develop into a top defender, fixing his mistakes must be a top priority, otherwise he will not only cost himself opportunities to develop, but his club and country will suffer as well.

   Faes will return to Leicester training this week as Steve Cooper’s men prepare for an early six-point exit against Southampton.
