Saudi clubs planning January bid to sign a 5 ft 9 /176cm player from Everton

Everton’s January transfer window and any signings they hope to make will again depend on who they sell first.

   That is, unless Dan Friedkin can find some financial leeway.

   At the moment, another relegation battle seems a very real possibility, and if those fears persist until January, something may have to change.

   But selling before they can buy is a difficult task if they are not gifted with desirable talent.

   However, one man managed to save them.

   The latest information on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future comes courtesy of TuttoJuve, who report that while Juventus want the Everton striker, he could face competition.

   After all, an Italian team would be hard-pressed to match the financial might of the Saudi Pro League, which they suggest.

   The report reads: “Juve are preparing to try to sign a striker in January, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin also on their shortlist.

   “The England striker from Everton is out of contract at the end of the season and represents a huge opportunity in the market.

   “At 27, he seems destined to turn his career around and move to a big club. He is also being watched by Saudi clubs, Juve are following him, but there are doubts about the footballer’s recent performances, only 7 goals last year, 2 this year.

   Calvert-Lewin was revealed earlier this week to be open to a move away from Everton, keen on new adventures, but it remains to be seen whether he would prefer to stay in the Premier League, Europe or elsewhere.

   Saudi professional league can save Everton

   With his contract set to expire this summer, Everton’s negotiating position regarding their star striker is far from solid.

   After all, the £100,000-a-week striker will likely be hoping to see his personal coffers boosted by the lack of a transfer fee he would demand.

   But in the Saudi professional league, those numbers are irrelevant anyway.

   With the money they paid there to bring in big stars from Europe’s top leagues, they could get a solid transfer fee while also giving Calvert-Lewin a huge wage packet.

   The money shown is simply ridiculous.

   Everton will offer Calvert-Lewin a new contract, but it will be difficult to compete with their financial strength.

   Perhaps it just depends on whether his ambitions in England outweigh his desire for unbridled wealth.
