Nottingham Forest have to cut ties with £40,000-a-week forgotten man, he earns more than Murillo

Nottingham Forest did a fantastic job in the summer transfer window and managed to add quality to the football club and simplify things in the process.

   The Reds added 11 new players, two of whom – Marko Stamenič and David Carmo – joined Olympiacos on loan in the 2024/25 season.

   Perhaps most telling, however, was the decision Forest made to offload – either on loan or permanently – more than 20 players in an apparent attempt to clear the decks.

   The Reds did not make good use of the loan market last season and as a result, all of the loan players from last season returned to their parent clubs.

   Despite their hard work, Forest still have a left back that they just couldn’t get rid of in the summer and that needs to change very soon

   Nottingham Forest have a cruel decision to make regarding Emmanuel Dennis

   The only player left at the club who has no chance of getting a chance under Nun Espirito Santo is Nigerian striker Dennis.

   Dennis signed for Forest in 2022 for £20m, shortly after the Reds were promoted to the Premier League.

   It quickly became apparent that Dennis wasn’t really a signing to Steve Cooper’s liking and a large portion of his minutes came off the bench.

   He managed just two goals and three assists in 25 games for Forest while also having loan spells at Watford and Basaksehir in Turkey.

   Dennis earns £40,000 a week and it’s very sad that Forest couldn’t take him off the wages, with star player Murillo only earning £30,000 a week at the club!

   Forest should pay Dennis and ditch the poor signing

   This is what happens when too many ideas are thrown into the blender when it comes to recruiting players in the Premier League.

   Dennis was a signing that Evangelos Marinakis likely approved based on information from someone outside the draft circle.

   At 26, Dennis must be regretting his decision to join Forest as early as 2022, even though it meant the chance to remain a Premier League player after Watford’s relegation.

   He scored 10 goals in his first campaign with the Hornets and was initially seen as a positive signing for Forest.

   However, he has proved to be a real waste of wages since signing for the club and perhaps the blemish of last summer is that Forest were unable to progress with Dennis.

   It seems the time has come to seriously consider paying the attacker and moving on with a somewhat embarrassing episode.
