Ty Bracey believes Youri Tielemans will be taking penalties for Aston Villa this season despite missing one for Belgium against France on Monday 14 October.
Tonight’s Red Devils captain will be disappointed to see his spot-kick fly past Mike Maignan before they eventually lost 2-1.
However, podcaster Villa Bracey, who appears on Villa Social, believes the 27-year-old will take the penalty for Villa.
We haven’t seen that in B6 before, as Jhon Duran took the only strike from 12 yards this season in the EFL Cup against Wycombe Wanderers, in a much-changed starting line-up.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It happens. I don’t know many penalty takers, if any, who go through their career without missing one.
“I’m not worried here, it’s not pleasant that he missed the penalty, but I still think he will be the penalty taker for Villa.
“You know, in football it just happens and there’s no reason not to take our penalties outright.”
Youri Tielemans has been named Aston Villa’s penalty taker after Belgium’s miss
The former Leicester City ace has become one of the key players at Villa Park this season after a positive first campaign in the West Midlands.
This form has seen his importance to the national team grow, but his missed penalties will certainly be a disappointment for the midfielder.
After scoring a goal in the Champions League for the Villans this season, his form at club level has been positive and will only improve if the Belgian starts scoring penalties regularly for Unai Emery’s side.
