Oliver Glasner could do something against Nottingham Forest no Crystal Palace manager has done since 1992

Oliver Glasner has already made history at Crystal Palace.

   Under the Austrian, Crystal Palace scored four first-half goals in a Premier League game for the first time in their history – among many other club records.

   In fact, an entire article could be written about the Crystal Palace records Glasner helped break after replacing Roy Hodgson in February.

   Now – however – Oliver Glasner has managed to secure an unwanted piece of Crystal Palace history.

   Why Oliver Glasner needs a win against Nottingham Forest

   If the Schärding man fail to beat Nottingham Forest on Monday – and go eight Premier League games without a win this season – it won’t make good reading from a statistical point of view.

   If we fail to secure three points at the City Ground, Crystal Palace will fail to win any of their opening eight top flight league games for the first time since 1992/93.

   Not since Steve Coppell oversaw a poor start to the 1992/93 Premier League campaign did Crystal Palace make such a poor start to a top-flight season.

   Of course, our performances haven’t been bad, with spirited performances against Chelsea and Manchester United paying off in terms of points, although the alarm bells would surely start ringing if we were beaten by Nottingham Forest on Monday.

   Crystal Palace could look very different

   In a desperate attempt to end this dismal run of results, the 50-year-old was able to tear up his record book.

   A story in the South London Press recently claimed that Glasner could change formation against Nottingham Forest, moving away from his wing-back system and possibly adopting a more traditional back four.

   Specifically, the Austrian is said to want to find a way for Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah to shoot alongside each other in attack.

   As they say, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results, so she would definitely make sure Glasner tries something new.
