Michael Keane claims ‘a lot’ of Everton players are playing through injuries and shares what he has suffered with

Everton’s season has been blighted by injuries even before the start of the campaign.

   Sean Dyche has had to contend with key absences in vital areas, forcing many in his squad to play out of position, with varying degrees of success.

   But in times of crisis like this, needs must.

   It seems that such desperation has even forced him to convince some of his stars to even continue acting because of some of these ailments.

   Michael Keane has revealed a shock Everton injury

   Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO following his match-winning display that helped his side to a second straight clean sheet while also netting a second goal, Michael Keane made a rather stark revelation.

   He played through the pain barrier.

   At Leicester City in particular, he claimed he simply had to “get through it” to improve the team.

   He also revealed that he is not alone in that regard, adding: “I had a bad leg against Leicester but it was fine and I’ve always been the type of person who wants to play and help the team in any way I can. .it was good  .

   “A lot of guys play with injuries and deal with it. It’s just one of those things.”

   That dedication to the cause is to be commended and explains what Everton fans changed about Keane at full-time last Saturday.

   Sean Dyche left with questions to answer

   It seems as though the Everton manager has some questions to answer following this Keane revelation.

   After all, given how Dyche has gone to great lengths to ensure that Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson aren’t rushed back, it seems his rules vary from player to player.

   Of course, the extent of some of the injuries warrants further care, but the fact that the former was deemed fit enough to play Crystal Palace, only to be ruled out, only adds to the scrutiny.

   If Keane and James Tarkowski played through the pain barrier while Jake O’Brien sat on the bench unscathed, it’s worth asking why they bought the Ireland international in the first place.

   Dyche has performed admirably this season and beyond, and in the past has worked wonders when dealing with injuries.

   However, his behavior this season has left some scratching their heads.
