Tottenham head into this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace knowing they could win and restore their European momentum ever so slightly.
So far this season, Tottenham have been typical of what we’ve seen from them in recent seasons, with some impressive performances marred by some equally awful ones.
However, Ange Postecoglou remains confident in his methods and after a win in Europe in midweek is keen to follow it up with another at Palace.
Youngster Mikey Moore has again impressed for Tottenham in Europe and could get another chance at Selhurst Park this weekend.
Of course, Oliver Glasner really wants to win. Palace have been in poor form and the manager is already under pressure.
And according to Alan Shearer, that pressure will once again affect proceedings this weekend.
Alan Shearer predicts the outcome of Crystal Palace v Tottenham
Shearer gave his weekend predictions for The Metro and touched on the topic of Tottenham v Crystal Palace.
And according to Shearer, there is only one winner in this game.
“It seems like every game is a big question for Crystal Palace with the form they’re in at the moment,” said Shearer.
“They can’t seem to score, the manager is under pressure and it really hasn’t gone the way anyone would have wanted or hoped.
“Tottenham are strong up front, they scored four more last weekend and I think they will have enough for Crystal Palace and get the three points at Selhurst Park.”
Tottenham can break the spell of Glasner Palace
It’s incredible that just eight games into the season we’re talking about a manager losing his job, but that’s the life of a Premier League manager.
For Oliver Glasner, who impressed so much last season, the shock of seeing his Palace side do so badly must be scratching his head.
Yes, they lost Michael Olise in the summer, but they also managed to keep hold of Ebere Eze and Marco Guehi.
However, it doesn’t seem to have helped much and in the end, Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou could be his last stand if the performance is not right.
