Wolves manager Gary O’Neil saw his side bounce back late today against Brighton, but he too was still disappointed with the proceedings.
The Molineux side battled back with two goals to salvage the game in the dying minutes to claim a valuable away point.
However, Wolves are yet to win this season and along with three other Premier League sides are in dire need of that first win.
The result will be a huge positive for Wolves fans, especially after Mario Lemina admitted that the team is thinking about the lack of wins.
But O’Neil himself felt the disappointment as he seemed to blame himself.
Gary O’Neil explains why he was disappointed with himself after Wolves v Brighton
Speaking to the BBC after the game, O’Neil was still frustrated, admitting he got his tactics wrong against the Seagulls.
“I’m a bit disappointed with myself because I started with the five [at the back]. I know we did well with the five against Manchester City and the boys deserved another try,” said O’Neil.
“But I didn’t think five would suit Brighton very well today, but at least we were quick enough to change that at half-time.
“On 85 minutes, when Brighton scored their second goal, I thought I’d be standing here answering some tough questions.
“The players have given a lot and if they keep it up, it can’t go against you anymore.”
O’Neil is treading on thin ice with the Wolves
While O’Neil has credit in the bank at Wolves and is well-liked by the board and fans, football is a results business and at the moment the results are poor.
Yes, the Brighton draw can be seen as a positive and something to build on.
But Wolves simply need to get a win on the board next week and we’ll be nearly a third of the season without a win.
Last season we saw Sheffield United and Burnley fight it out to win, but in the new year they lost.
The Wolves must therefore collect points quickly or face a similar fate.
