Nottingham Forest fans are desperate for the club to tie in-form striker Chris Wood down to a new deal after his remarkable start to the season.
According to journalist John Percy, the club have opened talks with the 32-year-old over a new deal with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
With seven Premier League goals in their opening nine games, only Erling Haaland and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo sit above Wood in the scoring charts.
The New Zealand international has scored nine of Forest’s last 13 Premier League goals, including seven of their 11 this season, accounting for 69% of their 2024/25 goals.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have inserted themselves in the conversation for European qualification after four wins, four draws, and just one defeat from their opening nine league games.
Football Insider revealed (October 29) that Wood is very happy at the club and is open to signing a new deal as soon as possible.
