Dyche causes ‘Shockwaves’ among Everton dressing room – report

Sean Dyche has sent shockwaves through the Everton dressing room with his decision to leave fit Jarrad Branthwaite out of the squad against Southampton, according to talkSPORT.

   Alex Crook reported via the outlet’s website on 5 November that Toffees players were surprised the manager kept the star full-back on as substitutes for the 1-0 defeat on 2 November.

   Branthwaite, 22, missed the start of the season while recovering from groin surgery in the summer and Everton went winless in their opening five games before returning to the starting line-up for their first win of the campaign, 2-1.  above the Crystal Palace on September 28.

   A subsequent hamstring problem in training saw him replaced again by Michael Keane, but the youngster has been on the bench for the last two games since being made available again.

   The Caramel players want to win just as much as the fans and they will be well aware that it will probably be more difficult to leave arguably the best player in the team on the bench when he is fit.

   Keane, 31, is sometimes a lightning rod for criticism, sometimes unfair, but even he would probably be surprised if he remained in the XI when Branthwaite returned.

   In his Liverpool Echo column on 4 November, Michael Ball criticized the decision to release the England international, suggesting that such decisions may have caused Dyche to lose faith in his players.

   When a manager is essentially auditioning to keep his job beyond the end of the season under new ownership by Dan Friedkin, it doesn’t seem like a smart way to beat the bottom of the Premier League without picking up one of your biggest stars.  .

   Admittedly, Keane was a big part of the 2-0 win at Ipswich on October 19 and may have earned the right to keep his place for the next game.

   But in what turned out to be a dismal 1-1 draw at home to Fulham, requiring Beto’s 94th-minute equalizer to escape a miserable defeat at Goodison Park, most would have expected Dyche to be next on  to his best side to take advantage of the fight.  Saints.

   The Everton boss has his credentials and has ultimately kept the club in League One in difficult circumstances, but when the fans are far from adoring him, he sometimes can’t help himself.

   A key theme of the summer was to keep hold of Branthwaite despite interest from Manchester United, but there was no point in him sitting on the bench when needed.
