Everton could really profit from what Brighton have just done, Friedkin Group must act immediately

A lot of changes are needed at Everton Football Club.

   Not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well, serious improvements are needed if Everton are to return to their former glory.

   Sean Dyche’s men look set to be involved in another relegation battle this season as they sit in 16th place.

   There have been calls for Dyche to be sacked, but unless things get worse, he looks set to stay on until the end of the season.

   The Friedkin Group will only fire Dyche in an emergency and things have not reached that point at the moment.

   Dyche shouldn’t be the only one under pressure though, as recruitment has been pretty inconsistent in recent years.

   So an upgrade is needed in that department as well, and with that in mind, what Brighton just did could help them achieve that.

   Brighton ax highly rated by recruiting scouts

   High-flying Brighton have made the surprise decision to sack most of their recruitment scouts, according to The Telegraph.

   The Seagulls have been one of the best clubs in Europe at signing young talent in recent years, with Moises Caicedo and Julio Ensico being notable examples.

   But owner Tony Bloom has decided to ditch most of the club’s full-time scouts as it moves towards a computer-driven model.

   And this is where Everton should attack as they have to try and get the now unemployed staff to overhaul a current squad that has failed to make a number of signings.

   They likely won’t be alone in their quest, so the Friedkin group needs to act fast to acquire the top-rated talent spitters before the bigger clubs circle around.

   Everton should adopt Brighton’s recruitment strategy

   The Toffees have not really had a clear recruitment strategy since the start of Farhad Moshiri’s reign.

   The whole thing was a kind of swagger strategy and it is clearly not working as they are in a new fight to survive this term.

   According to Transfermarkt, Everton have the second oldest average age in the Premier League, so the need for younger staff is obvious.

   Brighton’s scouts are excellent in this department, so it seems a natural fit if the club is to progress to the next stage.
